No Fluff in Superior 40 Ounce Rug Pad

In the world of felt rug pads, the higher the ounce weight, the higher the density, the better the performance and protection. The density of a felt rug pad is determined by the amount of felt there is compressed within a square yard of rug pad. Many manufacturers are using air to blow into their felt rug pads and calling them 40 ounce rug pads. The air fluffs the felt and makes it thicker, yet since it is still air, it does not add density.

Superior is proud to be a true 40 ounce dense rug pad
Rug Pad Corner does not use any air in the manufacture of its Superior 40 ounce rug pad. Instead, pure recycled felt is needle punched together into a very densely compressed 3/8" thickness. Every square inch of this rug pad is full of felt, nothing else, making it one of the most dense rug pads there is. The result is a solid felt rug pad made in a true 40 ounce density that works to prevent any penetration through to the floor.

When manufacturers today blow air into their felt rug pads, they are compromising the density and performance of the rug pad. These same air blown rug pads are being called 40 ounce because the air creates a temporary thickness and most 40 ounce felt rug pads are thick. The thickness of a felt rug pad containing air is deceiving, as the same air will compress and escape during use, making what was once a thick rug pad into a thinner rug pad. This compromises the protection to your area rugs and floors.

We tested Superior rug pad under all conditions: under the heaviest of furniture; under all types of foot traffic and we even cut it against cutting other so called 40 ounce rug pads. Cutting Superior was far more difficult than cutting the others, again proving that the all felt and no air rug pad is considerably more dense.

If it is a true 40 ounce rug pad that you require, visit www.rugpadcorner.com and choose to read about Superior 40 ounce rug pad. The extra density will prove to protect your area rug and flooring investments much better than the air blown options.
